Centre Lock 25mm (Currently not available)
Mavic developed the Ksyrium Disc to meet the unique demands of putting disc brakes on a road bike. As with all Ksyrium wheels, it can handle long, hard miles like no other, with the versatility to take anything you can throw at it.
Ksyrium ride quality
It shares the same DNA as its rim brake equivalent, famous for its amazing ride quality, which is all down to the light welded rim extrusion and the smooth and strong QRM bearings.
Specific disc specs
However, we needed to make adjustments to meet the challenge of disc brakes, so you'll see we've increased the number of spokes from 20 to 24 for both the front and rear wheel to handle the higher brake torque from the hub to the rim.
Available in 6 Bolts or Center Lock. The Shimano cassette body can be changed to Campag of required (extra cost).
Matching Yksion Elite tyres
Ksyrium Disc comes with our well-balanced Yksion Elite tyre in 25mm. Their special compound provides a great balance of low rolling resistance and secure cornering grip, dry or wet. The supple 120TPI casing also helps reduce rolling resistance while improving comfort. And at just 215g in a comfortable 25mm section, they perfectly match the rim's ability to accelerate and climb at ease.
Instant Drive 360
The new Instant Drive 360 freewheel system is super light and fast to engage with only 9?. A large contactless rubber seal provides low friction, while a wide array of end caps makes it super versatile.
Stronger and smoother.
Optimum energy transfer. The spokes are laced radially on the drive side and crossed 2 on the non drive side to maximise drive side dish, thus providing a better spoke tension balance between left and right flanges.
High quality double sealed with C3 internal clearance, and toped with a micro-adjustability system.
An exclusive Mavic patented concept, ISM involves the machining of the lower bridge of the rim between each spoke hole to create a light and rigid rim without reducing the durability of the rim.
